Dan is an experienced Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist, General Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. He works with individuals and intimate partners both in person and online, offering support with general counselling concerns as well as a wide range of sexual and relationship difficulties.
Dan qualified with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from Amersham and Wycombe College in 2014, before completing a postgraduate Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Counselling in 2017. He became COSRT accredited in 2021 and qualified as a clinical supervisor through The Awareness Centre in 2023. He is also a certified member of BACP.
His approach is pluralistic, meaning therapy is adapted to the individual rather than shaped around one fixed model. Dan’s foundational training is Person-Centred, and he also draws comfortably on Psychodynamic, CBT and Existential approaches. His aim is to create a safe, non-judgemental space where clients can explore what is happening for them and work towards meaningful change.
Dan runs a sex-positive and inclusive practice and works with people of all genders, sexualities, cultures and relationship styles. His psychosexual and relationship work includes sexual dysfunction, low or mismatched desire, painful sex, compulsive sexual behaviour, pornography, sexual trauma, infidelity, communication difficulties, consensual non-monogamy, polyamory, kink and BDSM. He also works with broader concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, addiction, PTSD, identity and self-development.
Alongside his private practice, Dan provides supervision to both trainee and qualified therapists, including practitioners specialising in psychosexual and relationship therapy. He is also part of the CICS teaching team and previously taught humanistic counselling at Barnet College. Earlier in his career, he worked with SPECTRUM drug and alcohol services in St Albans, the Local Counselling Centre in Letchworth and St Albans Sexual Health Clinic.
